California:
Dr Jeanette (Jeannie) Thomason
The Whole Dog
California
Email: info@thewholedog.org
Web Site: www.thewholedog.org
Dr Thomason has spent many years working with animals, a licensed veterinary technician in conventional veterinary medicine, she worked in both small animal hospitals, equine and mixed animal practices. While working in veterinary medicine, she saw first hand the damage done to animals by feeding processed feeds and the administration of vaccines, antibiotics, steroids and the use of pesticides. Being into natural health herself, and a natural rearing, show dog breeder, she had already stopped vaccinating and had been feeding exclusively, a raw species appropriate diet to her dogs for a couple of generations. In 2003 she opened her website, "The Whole Dog" and began online consulting work where she has helped pet owners to assist their animals in healing and staying healthy naturally.
Dr Jeannie continually studies and attends continuing education workshops and seminars with a focus on natural/holistic animal health. She earned her doctorate in veterinary naturopathy at Kingdom College of Natural Health in 2007 where she now serves an adjunct professor and is certified in aromatherapy and small animal nutrition. Dr Thomason is the founder of the Natural Rearing Breeders Association and co-founder of the American Council of Animal Naturopathy.

Kentucky
Dr. Debra Venable-Ball has her doctorate in small animal naturopathy from Kingdom College of Natural Health in 2011. She graduated as an Honors Scholar from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently studying Animal Studies at the same university, the first such degree offered in the United States. "Learning and growing is a life time experience," says Dr. Ball, "and our best teachers are our four legged friends." Her book the Bare Facts, Exploring the Chinese Crested Dog is now with the publisher and she is currently working on a book about the importance of opening canine stud books and allowing cross-breeding to invigorate pure bred dogs.
Dr Ball is also a natural rearing breeder of Miniature Bull Terriers, Chinese Crested dogs, and Chinese Imperial dogs. Debra attributes the health and longevity of her lines to feeding a species appropriate diet and treating holistically. Her Rottweiler pal, Sadie, pictured here lived to be 16 1/2 years old and was never sick a day in her long life. She believes the mark of a good breeder is to avoid extremes and take the health of the individual animal and the breed as a whole into consideration before all else.
