Course Description

The principles of animal naturopathy state that the body has the ability to heal itself by its vital force; disease is the resistance by this force to abnormal conditions in the body, disturbing the normal functioning of its organs and tissues and, naturopathy is a holistic modality which approaches the animal as a whole and not merely the symptoms of the complaint. Unlike traditional systems of medicine, naturopathy supports the philosophy of preventive health and natural care as found in the laws of nature.

This course will educate you in the philosophy of naturopathy,basic anatomy and physiology, the natural laws of health, carnivore nutrition, the adverse effects of vaccinations and a basic introduction to some natural healing modalities and chemical alternatives. The goal of this course will be to gain an understanding of how to support a healthy lifestyle for dogs and cats that effectively combine the properties of physical function, immunity and mental wellness. Coursework will include the use of books, articles, audios and webinars.

A Naturopathic Approach to Pests & Parasites
Introduction to Natural Healing Modalities
Animal Naturopathy Consulting

Any of the individual modules may be taken by themselves however, the student will not be able to take the board examination to be certified in small animal naturopathy until all modules have been successfully completed in order and one elective has been successfully completed.

Elective courses are required to complete the Certification Programs. The electives need not be taken through ACAN though we suggest that participants check our list of approved electives listed on this website. Students are requested to submit copies of certificates, letters or other verification of having completed courses in other complementary therapies to fulfill the Elective Requirement.

The price of the entire course (exclusive of an elective) is $1,284.00

As in most educational courses, you will be required to purchase books and/or DVDs in addition to the course/module fee. The average course materials cost is about $45.00 (USD) but do note that as you enter other modules the costs may drop as you will have some of the products from previous modules in your possession.
