Earthing For Pets

By Dr. Jeannie Thomason, Vice President and co-founder of The American Council of Animal Naturopathy.

Just like us, our pets are bioelectrical beings whose bodies function electrically.

The Earth is an electrical planet, vibrating with healthy frequencies and a slight negative surface charge required for a healthy immune system. The word “negative” in this context means an abundance of electrons that can move quickly and reduce charge.

Emerging science has revealed how direct contact with the ground allows dogs (and, of course, humans and other animals) a life-giving energy infusion.

The body and its countless systems all naturally function first and foremost, electrically. EVERYTHING vibrates with electrical frequencies.

For example, the heart beats by virtue of electrical impulses, and nerve impulses make it possible for voluntary and involuntary movements. The trillions of cells we and our animals are made up of vibrate to the beat of particular frequencies as they are forever transmitting and receiving bioelectrical energy in communication with the extra-cellular environment around them. Naturally occurring electric fields regulate the movement of nutrients and waste products in and out of them, as well as regulating cell division and healing. We and our companion animals are bioelectrical beings!

Science reveals that direct contact with the earth/ground allows our companion animals (and ourselves when we go barefooted) to receive an energy infusion!

This energy infusion has proven to have powerful health benefits such as:

• restoring and stabilizing the bioelectrical circuitry that governs the physiology and organs,
• harmoniing the body’s biological rhythms,
• boosting self-healing mechanisms,
• reducing inflammation and pain,
• improving sleep and creating a feeling of calmness.

Walking barefoot is called grounding or earthing. Our pets were created to be always be grounded via living on the ground.  However, now that we keep them confined indoors the majority of the time, it is vitally important that they have time to be out of doors on the ground (dirt or grass perferably)  and recieve the natural energy infusion from the earth’s electrial frequiencies as often as possible in order to truly thrive.
